SANDBLASTING
Sandblasting, also known as abrasive blasting, is a process that involves the high-pressure force of an abrasive material, such as sand, being propelled onto a surface to clean, smooth, or texture it. This technique is commonly used in industries such as manufacturing, construction, automotive, and restoration. The abrasive material is typically delivered through a nozzle using compressed air or water, and the force helps to remove contaminants like rust, old paint, and dirt, or to prepare a surface for further treatment, such as coating or painting. While the term “sandblasting” originates from the use of sand, modern methods use a variety of abrasives, including glass beads, aluminum oxide, and steel shot, to suit different applications.
One of the primary advantages of sandblasting is its effectiveness in surface preparation. By abrading a surface, sandblasting increases its roughness, which enhances the adhesion of coatings, paints, and other finishes.
